The provincial governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, met in La Plata with the national and provincial leaderships of the Autonomous CTA and the Workers' CTA to analyze the current political, economic, and social situation. Present at the meeting were Hugo Yasky, General Secretary of the Workers' CTA; Hugo "Cachorro" Godoy, General Secretary of the Autonomous CTA; and the provincial representatives Roberto Baradel and Oscar de Isasi, along with the Minister of Labor of the province of Buenos Aires, Walter Correa.
During the meeting, they addressed the contents of the unity process that both central organizations are working on, focusing on strengthening and promoting a plan of struggle against the government of Javier Milei, according to a statement they issued. The need to demand the restoration of the funds that the national government removed from the provinces was discussed, affecting the income of workers due to a lack of public works and the lack of responses in the areas of health and education in the provinces.
Additionally, they analyzed the budget presented by the national government, which prioritizes the payment of foreign debt and a zero deficit, which could further restrict provincial resources and foster deindustrialization and poverty. Finally, it was agreed to make two joint presentations: one to demand the immediate convening of the Salary Council by the Ministry of Labor, and another to urge the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation to address the unconstitutionality of decree 70/23 regarding free competition among health insurance providers and prepaid healthcare plans.
